Grandpa and Roma visit too!

A few days after Cheryl and family left, Erik's dad and wife Roma came to visit us.  We were so excited for them to come stay with us for a few days, and to show them around our 'new' town!  We had a truly action packed 3 days, hopefully we didn't wear them out too much:)  I only have a few photos of a couple things we did while they were here.  I don't have photos of the cool swim at the swimming hole in the creek in our yard (Grandpa went all the way in!),  hiking at Island Lake Lodge, checking out the Car Show downtown, a nice float down the Elk River with my sister and family, and a jam session with Grandpa playing his harmonica (he is AMAZING!!).  It was so nice to see the kids have fun with them and spend some special one on one time together.

Once again, we rode the chairlift up the  mountain.  Photo taken at the lookout spot  up top.

Thanks so much for visiting!  We love you! xox

Cousin time!

We got to enjoy some fun and exciting cousin time, with Erik's sister and family.  They stayed with us for 3 nights, and every day was full of adventure!  It's so nice to see the cousins so excited to see each other- we barely saw the kids the whole time they were here!

'twins'

We rode the chairlift up the mountain, and hiked around once at the top-   such beautiful scenery!

Even Téo wanted in on the action.  And of course, Chloé was thrilled!

Pour Andrée

My aunt Andrée made me this doll when I was 2.  I bet you didn't know she was a swimmer:)

Watching the Trans Rockies

Just a few cute photos of the kids while watching the racers cross the finish line (there is only so much cheering little hands can do:)

Dancing on the sidewalk to the race music

Trans Rockies Race 2013, Day 1

Fernie is fortunate to be the host once again of the big start of the Trans Rockies, a very grueling 7 day single track mountain bike race.  Over 400 racers from 23 different countries compete in this amazing challenge.  It's so exciting and inspiring to watch, and even more exciting when we know several racers competing!

Bill, Don and Chris, waiting for the big start!

The pack of racers is lead down Main Street by Fernie's own 1928 Studebaker Fire Truck

Go racers!!!
